ABOUT
Assemblyman Tom McKevitt, who resides in East Meadow, was first elected to serve the 17th Assembly District in a special election in February 2006, succeeding Maureen O’Connell who now serves as Nassau County clerk. He was re-elected in November 2006.
The 17th Assembly District encompasses the communities of Garden City, New Hyde Park, East Meadow, Mineola, Williston Park, East Williston, Carle Place, Westbury, Floral Park, Albertson and Uniondale.
A Hofstra University graduate, Assemblyman McKevitt is currently the ranking minority member on the Committee on Mental Health and also serves on the Judiciary, Small Business and Social Services Committees.
